With the weather improving it was time to set out on a major excursion into the wilderness. This time the journey was from Braemar to Blair Atholl, a total distance of 30.2 miles. The intrepid duo were driven to the starting point by my Brother In Law, Graeme Shaw and his canine companion Scooby. We set out from the car park in Braemar headed up to the Linn of Dee where we took the land rover track to White Bridge. We quickly put on the aqua shoes, Dave stripped to his shorts and we waded across the Geldie Burn and two other smaller burns before stopping for lunch at the ruin of Bynack Lodge. From there it was a taxing, technical single track all the way to the Falls of Tarf via the watershed before we picked up the land rover track for a pleasant journey through Glen Tilt to Blair Castle were we cycled down the Castle drive before meeting up with Graeme and Scooby at the Atholl Arms where we enjoyed a couple of refreshing pints of Braveheart Ale and a nice meal.
