Time for a further visit north to Aviemore and another poor excuse for Dave to get stuck into a pint of Stella Black in the Woodshed at Coylumbridge. With so many options available in this area we decided to ignore the area to the south of the ski road at Loch Morlich and instead confine our days activities to the north with a 26 mile loop taking in part of the Old Logging Way, the Sluggan Pass, Lochs Mallachie & Garten, Nethy Bridge and the Ryvoan Pass before returning to our starting point near to the Glenmore Visitor Centre on the shores of Loch Morlich. Our days excursion took us on forest trails, single track, grass track, rough rock strewn trails and a nice sedate section on the B class roads around Nethy Bridge. In general a fairly easy cycle with a few short steep sections but nothing too severe. The only real sections that might cause a few problems to those inexperienced mountain bikers was a short section on the Sluggan pass, downhill towards Milton and the section downhill from the Ryvoan Bothy towards the Green Loch. Take care, pick your lines and you will be fine...famous last words.
